At Purl Jam, we believe that even the smallest things such as a strand of yarn or a single stitch can create a meaningful impact when shared with the community. With that belief, Purl Jam was created not only as a project that celebrates handmade creativity, but also as a social initiative where kindness, creativity, and community spirit grow together. Through our activities, we hope to share the joy of knitting while also creating opportunities that support and empower children in need.

Bringing Knitting Workshops to Maison Chance and Ngoại Thuỷ Charity Class
One of Purl Jam’s key initiatives is organizing knitting workshops for students at Maison Chance and Ngoại Thuỷ Charity Class, two communities that support children with challenging life circumstances. Through these workshops, students are introduced to the basics of knitting – from learning how to hold the needles to creating their very first stitches. While knitting may seem simple, the process helps nurture patience, focus, and creativity. As the students gradually become more familiar with the rhythm of each stitch, they begin to experience the joy of creating something with their own hands. Beyond learning a new skill, these sessions also become moments of connection and encouragement. Sitting together with colorful yarn and small knitting needles, students share conversations, laughter, and a sense of achievement as their creations slowly take shape. For the Purl Jam team, these workshops are not only about teaching knitting. They are about creating a warm space where creativity can grow and where meaningful connections can be formed.
Creating Opportunities Through Fundraising and Scholarships
Alongside its community workshops, Purl Jam also develops handmade knitted products crafted with care by members of the project. These products are shared through our platform not only as creative pieces, but also as a way to support the project’s social mission. Through selling these handmade creations, Purl Jam is able to build a fund that helps sustain the project’s activities and support students in need. A portion of the funds raised will be used to provide scholarships for students, helping them continue their education and pursue their personal aspirations. For Purl Jam, each knitted product carries a purpose beyond craftsmanship. Every stitch contributes to a larger goal: creating opportunities, supporting education, and spreading kindness within the community.
